    Built In Periodic Message Sending


    Due to the real-time and reliability considerations of automotive electronics,data transmission inside the car is sent in a periodic or event based manner,and the control unit is generally at the millisecond level.Although current computer processing capabilities can easily handle large amounts of data transmission,the sending of a large number of periodic messages requires users to manage many threads or timers,which not only consumes a lot of CPU resources but also greatly increases the difficulty of programming for users.In addition,the Windows system is not a real-time system,and when other programs are running,it can also affect the accuracy of periodic message sending time (the error can even reach more than 10 milliseconds).


    The bus tester developed by DingYu Automobile uses a real-time operating system, and each channel supports sending 16 periodic messages,which can be CAN,CANFD or LIN messages.It not only has precise time control (1ms),but also greatly reduces the CPU usage of users' computers,and can also reduce the time and difficulty of user programming. These messages can even be stored in Flash and run automatically when the device starts. By adjusting the sending delay of periodic messages,a series of specific actions with certain running logic can also be edited.


    The sending of these periodic messages is supported by both standard software and secondary development software,and is more convenient for secondary programming testing.It can be used in production testing,DV testing, aging testing,functional testing and other scenarios.In short,it is particularly useful for scenarios with multiple channels or more precise control time requirements.

    Built In Diagnostic Transport Layer Protocol


    The UDS diagnostic services commonly used in automobiles run on different bus protocols and require adaptation to different transport layer protocols,such as ISO15765-2 protocol based on CAN and CANFD,ISO17987-2 protocol based on LIN, ISO13400 protocol based on Ethernet,etc.The transport layer protocol is responsible for splitting,sorting,and concatenating UDS data according to the characteristics of the underlying protocol,as well as traffic control,time processing and other related tasks.The integrity, reliability and stability of the implementation of transport layer protocols are crucial for the application quality of diagnostic services.


    At present, there are some products on the market that provide diagnostic protocol libraries based on upper computers. However, due to insufficient optimization of protocol state machines or logic implementation, unstable phenomena often occur. Therefore, customers write relevant protocols according to their own needs to solve the problems they encounter. However, for most customers, due to time constraints, the protocol implementation is not complete and cannot meet all working conditions. They can only encounter problems and solve them, which not only consumes development time, but also may spend a lot of time on problem investigation and debugging during the application site stage.


    DingYu Automotive WizBus4 products have built-in CAN/CANFD ISO15765-2 and LIN ISO17987-2 diagnostic transport layer protocols in their hardware. These transport layer protocols are developed based on real-time operating systems and implement relevant protocol standards in a complete, comprehensive, and accurate manner according to protocol specifications. Users do not need to worry about functions such as data packet splitting, integration, flow control, and Timer parameters, nor do they need to worry about diagnostic service processing in special situations such as Busy Suspending and Test Present. Regardless of which programming language is used, as long as UDS diagnostic service data is processed well and focused on product functionality, it can be completed stably, reliably, and quickly for product related diagnostic testing and verification work.

    USB 2.0 And 1G Ethernet Management Interface


    The current maximum baud rate commonly used for a CANFD bus is 5Mbps,and the maximum transmission speed for 6 simultaneous buses can reach 30Mbps.In addition,the management interface speed for controlling and transmitting data,as well as connecting devices and computers,may need to reach 60Mbps to meet the transmission rate requirements.The USB 2.0 high-speed interface is easy to use and has a high speed,but USB has the characteristics of short transmission distance,poor stability when there are many interfaces and poor anti-interference ability,which sometimes make it less stable in practical applications.So using a gigabit Ethernet interface as a communication interface with the computer can be a good supplement to solve these problems.


    Each WizBus4 bus tester produced by DingYu Automobile comes with a USB 2.0 high-speed interface (480Mbps) and a Gigabit Ethernet interface,allowing users to choose according to their usage scenario.The supporting device management software shields the differences in physical layer interfaces,so for application software, there is no difference in USB or Ethernet interfaces.In other words, these two connection methods can be mixed or changed by the user,and the application program does not need to modify any code at all.


    Using Ethernet interface for connection is a good choice in aging testing,DV testing,long-term stability testing or environments with significant interference in complex work environments.Ethernet transmission distance factory,good anti-interference ability, few connection restrictions and most importantly,when there are a large number of connected devices,the system can still maintain good stability.DingYu Automobile's standardized software and secondary development software allow users to control up to 240 CANFD channels on the same computer and software,while maintaining long-term stable operation without frame loss.

    Flexible Software Architecture And Excellent Performance


    Testing is a very challenging task,with high requirements for both operating conditions and testing performance.Only software designed specifically from the underlying architecture can fully adapt to various complex and high standard application needs.DingYu Automobile's Bus Insight Pro software and supporting secondary development software adopt the same underlying architecture design and have the following outstanding features:


    •  A software can manage the connection of multiple hardware,regardless of whether the connection method is USB or Ethernet.

    •  A device can be opened by both standard software and secondary development software,allowing for simultaneous development and debugging.

    •  A computer can simultaneously open multiple software,connect to the same or different devices and handle different tasks separately.

    •  All diagnostic transport layer protocols are built into the hardware,and computer software is only responsible for diagnosing data.

    •  Periodic messages can be sent in hardware to reduce the consumption of computer CPU and programming complexity.

    •  Implement message filtering function in hardware to reduce CPU consumption in processing irrelevant messages.


    Flexible application combinations do not necessarily have to be achieved by sacrificing performance.DingYu Automotive's Bus Insight Pro software can maintain a stable CPU usage rate of around 30% and RAM memory of several hundred megabytes when 240 CANFD channels are transmitting and receiving at high speeds with over 80% load rate,fully supporting long-term stable system operation.Tested and operated for over 20 days,it remains stable without any malfunctions or frame loss.


    When it comes to performance, we usually think of parameters such as forwarding rate,data processing capability,and stability first.However,in the bus network system of automobiles,real-time performance is a more important indicator.Some devices in software systems will preset a very large transmission and reception cache queue to prevent the possibility of data frame loss.The application of actual cache queues mainly deals with the synchronization problem between burst data and processors,and cannot solve the frame loss problem caused by performance.Large cache queues are unnecessary waste when processing capacity is good,but can cause significant system latency when processing capacity is poor,ultimately leading to data loss due to differences in processing and transmission capacity.The WIZBUS hardware of DingYu Automobile adopts real-time operating system,which ensures the synchronization of data forwarding and processing through optimized bus transmission and reception processing mechanism,thereby ensuring the real-time and reliability requirements of the product,truly achieving the unity of high performance and real-time performance.


    Standard Supporting Software Bus Insight Pro


    WizBus products are equipped with standardized analysis and simulation software Bus Insight Pro,which is a new software optimized and designed based on the previous generation Bus Insight software,suitable for use with the new generation of WizBus products.Compared to the previous version,the new software has been better optimized in terms of interface layout,with clearer and more intuitive functional differentiation,and richer and more flexible software functions.
